McDonald's is invaded.
In recent years, the fast food chain has faced declining consumer perception, an overwhelmed menu, and worsening customer service.

But McDonald's executives have been working hard to improve and hold onto the company's status as the world's top fast food chain.

The menu could go back to basics.
- In recent years, the company menu has overloaded. Between 2004 and 2014, the menu options had an increase of 75%.
- The new menu led to the heavy workload for workers, and thus, a decline in customer service. Expect McDonald's to clean up its menu in the coming years.

McDonald's will look like your neighborhood coffee shop.
A more cafe-like restaurant is part of a larger strategy of the company, and that McDonald's is trying to move toward being more like Starbucks. Expect more coffee offerings in the coming years.

McDonald's will start serving more fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads.
McDonald's will expand its produce offerings in the coming years. The chain has been trying to shed its unhealthy image.  The changes will take effect by 2020.

The breakfast menu will be available all time.
As the overwhelming response for the breakfast menu, McDonald's execs have decided to extend the availability of the breakfast menu.
A 24-hour breakfast will be available soon.

Restaurants will feel more like Starbucks.
About half of McDonald's restaurants will be redesigned to get the "current contemporary look." Instead of the typical red and yellow decor, they prefer muted colors and modern exteriors.
The newly designed McDonald's will also feature more seating and a welcoming environment.

Customized burger based on your personal taste!
McDonald's is testing a tablet program where customers decide which toppings they want, according to MarketWatch. The test has only expanded to several states in the US.

Expect better quality ingredients.
Consumers are highly conscious with quality ingredients. 
McDonald's has acknowledged this trend and says that beef and fish will be more sustainable in coming years and using antibiotic-free meats. McDonald's has also said it will start using cage-free eggs.

Customer service could improve.
McDonald's customer service is at a low speed.
McDonald's is handling this problem by adding workers, stepping up training, and trimming the menu. This will help workers feel less overwhelmed, and will allow customers to get their food sooner.

Order and pay from your phone.
McDonald's is testing a mobile ordering app that would allow customers to order and pay online from their phones.
The customer could pick up their food when they arrive in the store.

McDonald's might start offering massive meals that families can share.

Last year, McDonald's began experimenting with a "Blitz Box" to feed multiple people. This box could represent the future of McDonald's value meals.
